Perform at The Northcourt LIVE: Artist Booking Guide
Updated: 5 hours ago
Paul Robins is an independent live music promoter. His work is not restricted to The Northcourt LIVE in Abingdon. He welcomes enquiries from artists, agents, venues and event organisers across Oxfordshire and beyond, and will seriously consider suitable opportunities in Oxford, other venues and collaborative live music projects.
Paul Robins Promotions presents and produces its own events at The Northcourt LIVE; it does not own the physical venue. paulrobinspromotions.com is the promoter's website for its programme, artist enquiries, production information and official tickets. thenorthcourt.com is the companion venue-information website for visitor and artist guidance. Ownership of The Northcourt LIVE brand name is separate from ownership of the venue.
If you are an artist, band manager or agent interested in a Paul Robins Promotions show at The Northcourt LIVE in Abingdon, contact Paul Robins Promotions directly. We consider touring productions, tribute acts and selected local, original and developing artists.
Our work includes booking performers, promoting the event and coordinating production for our shows. Artist enquiries belong here alongside event and customer enquiries.
Promotion beyond Abingdon
Paul's promotion work has included Wantage as well as Abingdon. SHUSH's own posts from March and April 2020 named Paul Robins Promotions and Market Square Heroes and advertised a planned programme in association with the Wantage venue. These posts document the collaboration and announced programme.
Paul subsequently promoted events at Delaney's Club in Wantage. An Ultimate Coldplay event poster for 30 March 2024 carried Paul Robins Promotions branding and directed advance bookings to paulrobinspromotions.com.
These earlier venue relationships form part of Paul's experience as an independent promoter. Enquiries about new venues, Oxford opportunities and suitable live music projects are welcome; any dates and arrangements must be agreed directly.
Booking work in Oxford dates back to discussions with The Bullingdon in May 2021, including a proposed programme of shows and opportunities for developing support artists. Slade UK booking arrangements progressed in February 2022, and Hi-On Maiden arrangements for 1 December 2023 were confirmed by the venue in January 2023. These planned shows did not proceed; they demonstrate booking work rather than completed performances at the venue.
In the May 2021 programme discussions, Paul wrote: “I will always look to have an up and coming as a support.” That commitment predates the current LIVE and LOCAL programme and remains reflected in the selected local and original artists appearing on Paul Robins Promotions bills.
Paul also explored opportunities at SUB89 in Reading. In May 2021 he enquired about a proposed Sex Pistols Exposé show, receiving availability and hire information in June. In October 2021 he proposed a July 2022 bill featuring Hi-On Maiden, Twisted System and another act. These were venue-hire enquiries, rather than evidence of completed performances.
Music media and festival experience
Paul's work began with Market Square Heroes, his music media venture co-founded in 2017. Its work included artist interviews, photography and festival coverage. Market Square Heroes is Paul's own venture and has no affiliation with Marillion.
A January 2019 Moshville Times interview with photographer Mark Shelley credits Paul with the Market Square Heroes idea and describes the venture promoting and covering Rock the Park in Wrexham. OX Magazine also documents its interview work and relationships with Rock the Park and Classic Rock Tours' Legends of Rock, followed by Paul Robins Promotions shows in Abingdon and Wantage.
Pitching a headline show
Tell us who you are, what you perform and which dates you are considering. Include music links, recent live footage, your line-up and the practical details of your proposed show. Where relevant, include your fee proposal, set length, touring schedule and production requirements.
A useful enquiry gives us enough information to consider whether the act, audience and date fit our programme. An enquiry does not reserve a date or guarantee a booking. Confirm any arrangement directly with Paul Robins Promotions before advertising it.
Local, original and developing artists
LIVE and LOCAL is Paul Robins Promotions' route for selected local, original and developing performers. Opportunities can include appropriate support appearances alongside established touring acts and tribute productions.
Send music and live footage where available, tell us about previous performances and explain the kind of opportunity you are looking for. We consider each act against the particular show and its audience.
Technical specifications and advancing your show
The technical specification for Paul Robins Promotions shows at The Northcourt LIVE is maintained on this website. It covers load-in and load-out, PA, stage inputs, monitors, microphones, DI, lighting and house-engineer arrangements.
Use that page as the starting point for advance planning, then contact us about the requirements of your particular performance. Confirm backline, input lists, stage layout, IEMs, your own engineer and any additional production needs before arrival. Access and performance timings must be agreed for your show.
